J.C. Howard is a Oakland-born media producer. Currently, he is a contributing blogger for the NPR staple, Car Talk. He also works as an Audio Editor with 91.7FM KALW, an NPR affiliate in San Francisco, where he creates radio edits of the KALW project and Radiotopia podcast 99% Invisible. He also formerly served as a General Assignment Reporter for KALW's Crosscurrents Program.
As a member of the First Voice Apprenticeship Program, J.C. was a producer for the cultural affairs Radio-magazine Full Circle on 94.1FM KPFA in Berkeley, California. You might ask, "A magazine? On the radio? What'll they think of next?!" My response: Self-driving cars. (Looking at you, Elon Musk). J.C. also served as the Lead Anchor for the pilot program "Sports & Politics News Update" on 89.3FM KPFB in Berkeley.
In 2012 J.C. began hosting and Executive Producing a Podcast called Cut Down. The Cut Down Podcast was a News & Current Events available on iTunes. His passions include storytelling (ergo the wrestling gimmick), writing, and participating in life!
Aside from career interests, J.C. holds a Master of the Arts in Communication and Leadership from Gonzaga University. He began his pursuit in 2009 and failed miserably shortly after. But like a Phoenix, J.C. rose from the ashe...wait, is that a little much? Yeah, you're probably right. He returned in 2016 and completed his degree in 2017. The full story is in the video below!
